Your business runs on protocols. Can you see them?

Strategy and operations advisory for companies run by people and thousands of agents.

Copies a short prompt. Paste it into ChatGPT or Claude for a free protocol report on your business. How it works ↓

01 · SEE

Protocols aren't on the org chart.

The org chart shows who reports to whom. Protocols are how work actually gets done: handoffs, approvals, permissions, what data leaves the company. Most were never written down.

Which handoffs, approvals and permissions does your work actually depend on?

An org chart drawn faintly, with three protocols drawn boldly across it: an order handoff, a payment approval, and data leaving the company.

02 · BACKBONE

A few of them are your backbone.

These must hold every time, no matter who does the work. Build them into your systems. Leave everything else to the teams.

Which rules must hold every time, no matter who does the work?

Three rings: a small hatched hard core, a ring of soft habits around it, and a dotted ring of freedom outside.

03 · SCALE

AI agents won't ask for manager approval.

With thousands of agents, no one can approve every step. A few hard protocols set the limits for all of them at once.

What could an agent do that your rules allow but nobody intended?

Left, agents crowd at a single approval step and most slip around it. Right, the same agents move freely inside one hard boundary with gates.

04 · AMEND

A backbone that can't change will break.

Review it on a schedule. Make hard what keeps working, and loosen what slows good work down. Count the problems that didn't happen, not only the targets you hit.

Who can change your most important rules, and who can stop the work when one is broken?

Three versions of the backbone over time: a habit that keeps paying off is made hard, and a hard rule that blocks good work is softened.

  1. Ask your assistant. Paste this into ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant that can read links. It reads the research behind this page, asks you a few questions, and writes you a short report on your protocols.
Read https://protocolvision.org/llms.txt and write me the protocol report it describes for my business. Then help me send an anonymised summary to Protocol Vision Advisory.
  2. Send us the anonymised summary. Your assistant gives you a link to our send form with the summary filled in, with names, clients and figures removed. You check it, add your email and press send. We reply with the protocol to fix first, then work on that one problem for a few weeks, or stay on as your protocols change.
